March was an incredibly busy month with much news coming out of Lamborghini headquarters, most of it surrounding their appearance at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. The most exciting news was the announcement and unveiling of the Aventador LP750-4 SV with power equal to that of the Veneno but not quite matching its light weight or exclusivity. This did little to stop many from lining up in Geneva and Amelia Island, Florida at the SV's US debut 2 weeks later to order the first cars off the production line.
And continuing the recent trend toward record Lamborghini auction prices March saw the Miura SV hit a new high for the first USA production prototype #4884 achieving $2,310,000 US and my personal long time favourite model Jalpa hitting $111,100 US for an early RHD model #DLA12068 almost doubling its original selling price back in the early 1980s. That's quite an achievement for Lamborghini's "baby" V8 model. This together with recent Espada and Jarama records now means "entry level" Lamborghinis start with the more numerous Diablo and Gallardo models which are hitting all time lows for early cars at under $100k. There are no longer any cheap Lamborghinis to be had unless you are a skilled mechanic looking for a project car and even those are starting their inevitable climb.
