Miura P400 SV (150 Made March 1971-Oct 1973)
The Miura SV was introduced in March 1971 at the Geneva Auto Show. Due to the many refinements and lowest production of all three Miura factory models, the Miura SV remains the most highly sought after version amoung collectors.
Some of the most significant changes on the SV are as follows: The increased rear body line's width and stance, improved engine, improved suspension, wider SV specific wheels and tires and in some cases the oil supplies to the crankcase and transmission were separated with cars receiving the ZF limited-slip differential.
The SV engine was the most highly developed, increasing horsepower to 385 at 7850 rpm.
On the outside, the most visible difference would have to be the widened rear stance due to the revised suspension and wider rear wheels to accommodate the larger rear tires. The SV also benefited from new nine inch wheels and Pirelli Cinturato 255VR-15 rear tires. The cleaning of the front lines with the removal of the eyelashes surrounding the headlights helped streamline the appearance.
In the cockpit the SV was now appointed in leather as standard instead of the vinyl used in the previous models. It also received additional creature comforts separating it further from its predecessors.
There were a total of 150 SV's produced . In addition some previous Miura S and Miura P400's were upgraded to the Miura SV class. In the end, Miura total production included 763 cars, 11 of which received the "SV" upgrade.
Pictured at left is the Pebble Beach Award winning Miura SV Prototype Serial Number 4758. The Miura SV was the last "official" model of its kind that Lamborghini produced. It was the final and ultimate example of the worlds first "Supercar."
